This Site is dedicated to the Loehle P5151 Mustang Replica and
those builders and enthusiasts who want to see and learn more.
I purchased my Kit in 1994 and spent 4 years constructing this 75% scale
replica of the most famous fighter aircraft of all times. Made of wood and fabric
it took nearly 1000 hours of working on weekends and days off from work but
the final product was well worth the effort.
You will see photos of my plane and others under construction. I think you
will be amazed at what you can do with some popcicle sticks and some glue

One afternoon we were fortunate to
have a real P51 Mustang visit us from
the Atlanta area.
I took the opportunity to get my plane
out and park next to the real thing to
compare lines.

Flying Characteristics:
The Loehle P5151 flies very much like the J-3 Cub. Designed for the weekend
pilot, the P5151 flies slow and easy. Thick wings and large control surfaces
make it a very docile aircraft. Takeoffs and landings are extremely simple with
no bad habits. The ailerons are fairly stiff with slow response but the elevators
and rudder are light to the touch and very responsive. For the money and the
purpose it was designed for, it's truly a magnificent bird.

Costs: While the kit costs less than
$10,000. the total costs will run around
$18,000. and up depending on what
you decide to put into the plane.
